Rockland BOCES FlexConnect offers a comprehensive hybrid educational and mental health support model for classified students in grades 9-12. The program provides an intensive, therapeutic setting designed to support both the clinical and academic needs of students.
FlexConnect utilizes a team-based approach that includes a certified teacher and clinician, with a focus on developing a unified plan for each student. The therapeutic hybrid model integrates instructional and clinical components within a structured and supportive milieu that is also aligned with New York State standards.
The FlexConnect program uses a variety of online and web-based instructional platforms. These include fully synchronous online learning, hybrid or blended courses and web-based instruction.
The program utilizes a range of technologies and Learning Management Systems to ensure flexibility and accessibility.
FlexConnect is committed to re-engaging high school students through a flexible academic program paired with comprehensive wraparound supports. Through the combination of online instruction with personalized home visits from educators and clinicians, a bridge between students and school communities is forged.
Students have the opportunity to recover academic credit, make up failed or incomplete coursework and receive targeted academic intervention services in preparation for the New York State Regents exams.
