District-Based Education
Rockland BOCES district-based programs serve classified students, ages 5-21, with a variety of disabilities, including autism, developmental and learning disabilities, as well as students who present with social and emotional challenges. Classrooms are located in elementary, middle and high schools with opportunities for integration and/or mainstreaming.

Students with developmental disabilities including autism, intellectual disabilities and multiple disabilities or students with academic, social and/or emotional needs who would benefit from a less-restrictive environment and, as appropriate, access to mainstream opportunities. Students may be alternately assessed or participate in NY State examinations.
