Students enrolled in the Rockland BOCES Youth Connections program recently celebrated a 100% passing rate for the New York Medical Assistant Certification Exam. The five students were hand-selected for the 288–hour course in preparation for the exam, which was held on October 12. Course fees and supplies were funded by the Youth Connections program. Several of the students have accepted job offers and will begin working in the field immediately, while others have chosen to complete their undergraduate degrees before entering the workforce.
The Youth Connections program provides the opportunity for youth and young adults (ages 14-24) to learn the skills they need to achieve in their chosen career path. The program is a collaboration with the Rockland County Career Center and is supported by a Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act grant. Learn more about the Youth Connections program.
Congratulations to our newly certified Medical Assistants!
