Rockland BOCES is now hiring for its summer programs. Please read the information below carefully.

Special Education Extended School Year Summer Program

Rockland BOCES provides a six-week program for students who require an extended school year (12 months). This program continues with all academic, behavioral, developmental, and social needs requirements of students IEPs.

Program hours have been scheduled from approximately 8:15am – 2:30pm each day. More specific details regarding summer school will be sent to all staff once student enrollment has concluded and the programming needs have been assessed. Attendance and active participation during the entire summer school program operation are key to student success. We discourage applicants who are not willing to invest in the students being served during this time period.

Important Dates to Remember

  • The orientation date for staff is scheduled for Friday, June 28, 2019
  • The students will attend the summer program beginning on Monday, July 8, 2019
  • The final day will be at the close of school on Friday, August 16, 2019

How to Apply
All applications must be fully and accurately completed and submitted via the online form. The applications will be reviewed and the selected applicants will be forwarded to the Superintendent for consideration. The Superintendent and/or his designee is responsible for making all recommendations to the Board of Education for final approval. Any applications submitted after 4:00pm on Friday, February 15, 2019, will be considered on an as-needed basis.

Regional Academic Summer School 

Rockland BOCES’ Regional Academic Summer School program provides students with the opportunity to complete remedial coursework and retake state exams.

This year’s program will be housed at the Fieldstone Middle School in Thiells. Program hours are from 7:30 – 10:55am each day with the possibility of an added session from 11:00am – 12:40pm, if enrollments warrant. Attendance and active participation during the entire summer school program operation are key to student success. We discourage applicants who are not willing to invest in the students being served during this time period.

Important Dates to Remember

  • The orientation date for staff is scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2019
  • Courses run from through Tuesday, July 9 through Monday, August 12, 2019
  • State exams will be given Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14, 2019

Summer Teen Tech Camp and Culinary Camp for Kids (application to come)

Rockland BOCES Summer Teen Tech Camp and Culinary Camp for Kids offer a series of hands-on programs for youth entering grades 7-10. Programs are scheduled for the weeks of July 8, 15, 22, 29 . The schedules are as follows:

  • Teen Tech Camp – 8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
  • Culinary Camp – 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Application Deadline: 
All applications must be fully and accurately completed and submitted by this date and time. The applications will be reviewed and the selected applicants will be forwarded to the Superintendent for consideration. The Superintendent and/or his designee is responsible for making all recommendations to the Board of Education for final approval.
