Each year before school officially starts, all teachers, administrators and staff come together at the BOCES Educational Resource Center (BERC) in Nyack to celebrate the start of a new academic year. During our 2018-19 Opening Day event on September 4, Chief Operating Officer Dr. Mary Jean Marsico and District Superintendent Dr. Charlene Jordan addressed the special philosophy that guides our agency and supports all learners. At Rockland BOCES, we acknowledge the contributions of those who foster inclusive excellence and promote an agency climate in which every member of the community – all ages and abilities – may thrive and be appreciated.

Both Drs. Marsico and Jordan expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming year, captured in our annual “Rockland BOCES: A Year of Excellence” video.

Keynote speaker New York State Regent Judith Johnson urged all Rockland BOCES faculty and staff members to think about ways in which they are diverse and to treasure that and appreciate it in others.

As part of the 2018-19 Opening Day celebration, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Ana Reluzco recognized 60 employees with more than 1,000 combined years of service to Rockland BOCES.

Our Rockland BOCES Board of Education, Executive Leadership Team, Cabinet and staff wish every learner a healthy and successful 2018-19 academic year.
