MOVER of the Month - May 2025

Congratulations to Pessy our Rockland BOCES Jesse J. Kaplan School “MOVER of the Month” for May!  Since joining the MOVE™ program, Pessy has transformed into an independent MOVEr, excited to learn and prosper.

“Pessy is a happy and friendly student who enjoys social interactions,” says Kaplan Physical Therapist Lori Guarascio. “When seated in her wheelchair, Pessy can guide herself independently throughout the school as she goes to lunch or the sensory room.”

Kaplan’s MOVE™ (Mobility Opportunities via Education) program combines therapy and education to teach children with physical disabilities and complex needs the functional skills of sitting, standing, and walking. MOVE™ aims to givechildren an opportunity to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. Every child deserves the right to MOVE™.
