MOVER of the Month - December 2025

Congratulations to Tommy, our Rockland BOCES Jesse J. Kaplan School “MOVER of the Month” for December! Since joining the MOVE™ program, Tommy has been able to improve his independence, allowing him to participate more with his peers in the classroom.

“Tommy is such a sweet boy,” says Kaplan Physical Therapist Lori Guarascid. “He’s been here since he was five, and he’s now able to interact with other students and staff with the help of various stability and mobility tools. Tommy has come so far and we’re so proud of him!”

Kaplan’s MOVE™ (Mobility Opportunities via Education) program combines therapy and education to teach children with physical disabilities and complex needs the functional skills of sitting, standing, and walking. MOVE™ aims to give children an opportunity to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. Every child deserves the right to MOVE™.
