MOVER of the Month - April 2026

Congratulations to Alex, our Rockland BOCES Jesse J. Kaplan School “MOVER of the Month” for April!  Since joining the MOVE™ program last year, Alex has built up his core strength, allowing him to participate more in the classroom. 

“Alex is a bright and social student,“ says Kaplan Physical Therapist Assistant Evan Follo. “Before coming to the MOVE program, Alex was bound to his wheelchair. Thanks to the MOVE program, he’s gained strength, mobility and confidence, allowing him to participate with his peers while sitting in a Compass Chair or using a mat.”

Alex resides in the East Ramapo School District.

Kaplan’s MOVE™ (Mobility Opportunities via Education) program combines therapy and education to teach children with physical disabilities and complex needs the functional skills of sitting, standing, and walking. MOVE™ aims to provide children with the opportunity to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. Every child deserves the right to MOVE™.
