District-Based Students Help Give Back to the Community

Students from Rockland BOCES programs recently partnered to support local families in need through a collaborative community service initiative.

Participants in the District-Based PAVE and COVE programs joined the Career and Technical Education Center’s (CTEC) Culinary Arts students to prepare and distribute meals for more than 65 food-insecure families. The effort was made possible through funding from the Family Opportunity Center (FOC) and Family Resource Center (FRC).

With guidance from CTEC instructors, students collaborated to prepare a variety of food items, including baked goods, seasoned chicken and beverages. The initiative provided students with hands-on experience while reinforcing the importance of community engagement.
