Rockland BOCES Communications Service Earns National Recognition – Again!

The Rockland BOCES Communications Service was honored this summer with 22 awards in the National School Public Relations Association’s (NSPRA) 2024 Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards, a nationwide competition to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievement in educational communications. Our graphic design work, social media campaigns, newsletter writing, calendar layouts, videography and strategic messaging produced on behalf of our component school districts won the praise of judges - with four Rockland BOCES entries winning the coveted Award of Excellence - the highest level of recognition in the national contest; seven entries were awarded Honorable Mention, the second place level of recognition; and, 11 submissions earned Awards of Merit, the third place level of recognition. The 22 awards reflect the creativity, hard work and dedication of the entire 20-member team.

The four Awards of Excellence were presented to Rockland BOCES (Gina Carbone), the East Ramapo Central School District (Trisha Sullivan), the Nanuet Union Free School District (Jonathan Clark) and the North Rockland Central School District (Madeline Girandola). 

In March, the Communications Service earned 14 communications awards in the New York School Public Relations Association’s 44th Annual Communications Contest for exemplary work in all aspects of school public relations, communications, marketing and engagement on behalf of our local school districts and Rockland BOCES.

The Rockland BOCES Communications Service is led by Director of Communications Scott Salotto and includes the talents and skills of Michelle Brown, Michelle Calcaterra, Gina Carbone, Jen Citrolo, Bridget Clark, Jonathan Clark, Ashley Columbia, Jacqueline Dodrill, Amanda Feeney, Madeline Girandola, Michele Kessler, Francesca King, Meg McCluskey, Emily Neary, James Phillips, Hailey Robertson, Trisha Sullivan and Michelle Verna.
