CTEC Students Serve Up Success at Taste of Rockland
Students from Rockland BOCES Career and Technical Education Center's (CTEC) Culinary Arts program recently showcased their talents at “A Taste of Rockland”, an annual culinary showcase hosted by the Ark of Rockland at the Pearl River Hilton. This prestigious event brings together the best restaurants and chefs in Rockland County to serve up a variety of appetizers, entrées, desserts, and more to the local community.
Our Culinary Arts students impressed attendees with their vegan Bao Buns, featuring red curry marinated tempeh, roasted Brussels sprouts, and a tangy pickled slaw. The appetizer was a hit for its fluffy buns and bold, flavorful filling. This hands-on experience allowed students to work alongside top culinary professionals while demonstrating their skills to a wider audience.
This is just another proud moment for our students, blending creativity and craftsmanship in the kitchen! Students in our Culinary Arts program learn how to skillfully prepare and serve meals that look as good as they taste. Working alongside experts in the field, these chefs-in-training develop a variety of highly sought-after culinary skills and techniques through hands-on training and daily work experiences.
