Students posingFrom Robotics and Welding to Cosmetology and Video Game Art, the 2017 season of our Rockland BOCES Summer Teen Tech Camp offered exploration, inspiration and fun! Campers in the Criminal Justice Boot Camp program toured the Rockland County Courthouse and correctional facility, learning firsthand about careers in local law enforcement. Teens enrolled in the “Intro to Programming Using Raspberry Pi” course visited the Rockland County Board of Elections and ManagementInformation Systems (MIS) data center in Pomona and learned the basics of programming in languages like Scratch and Python.

Culinary camp students prep foodOur Culinary Camp for Kids campers explored global cuisine at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, while our future pastry chefs learned how to pipe cannoli, fill bear claws and ice gourmet cupcakes from the team of expert decorators at Carlo’s Bakery – the home of the “Cake Boss”- in Jersey City!

The Rockland BOCES’ Career and Technical Education staff is dedicated to providing local teens the summer opportunity to safely explore our technological and culinary worlds and stimulate the instinctive artist, scientist and inventor in each of them!
