CBI Tech

CBI Tech is an alternative secondary program for students who struggle academically due to severe behavioral issues. This small learning community benefits from an integrated curricula that focuses on self-regulation, language and basic academics.

Academics

The three program options available to CBI Tech students are:

  • Full-day academics
  • Students who are on course to receive a Regents, Advanced Regents or Local Diploma have the option to spend a half-day at CBI Tech and a half-day at Rockland BOCES' Career and Technical Education Center
  • A self-contained class is provided for students requiring additional academic and therapeutic support

All classrooms are state-of-the-art and feature either Smartboards or computers with appropriate software.

Clinical Supports

CBI Tech offers intensive clinical supports to help students succeed both in and out of the classroom. Clinicians and teachers work as an integrated team to support the need of all students. Classroom settings are flexible and combine education with individual, group, and when appropriate, family counseling. The Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Model (PBIS) is the foundation of clinical support at CBI Tech.

Career Education Program Options

CBI Tech students are eligible to participate in work-based learning options. Job coaching is provided for students so that they can develop skills necessary for success in the workplace. Students are able to participate in coursework at
the Career & Technical Education Center located on the West Nyack campus.
